The Acrobatic Immigrant Who Invented Pilates in a Prisoner of War Camp

What a fantastic read on how Pilates started, I have always said and have heard people tell me how fantastic their body feels after taking a Pilates class, more flexibility, core strength improvement, balance, posture, and an actual feeling of becoming taller.

In case you are unfamiliar with what the main function of Pilates does:

Muscles that lie deeper in the body, closer to the vertebral column, usually have more subtle functions which stabilize the body, these are referred to as local or stabilizer muscles. They are responsible for making small adjustments to the alignment of the spine.

Many Pilates movements require you to hold your torso in place while moving your limbs in different directions, this, therefore, challenges your body with balance, stability, and flexibility. In time, this will strengthen your core and will streamline your body.

Give this a read I hope you enjoy it as much as I did:)
